(How) have you witnessed or experienced ubuntu – the recognition that “a person is a person through other people?” Who are the people who make you who you are? Who do you depend on for your daily existence? Who would be incapacitated if you died? Who do you feel accountable to – your nuclear family, your extended family, your friends, your local community, your state, your country, people with the same religious or political convictions? How do you share the benefits and burdens of your community? Is ubuntu possible if one person or group or country resists?
